Shamrock Forge and Woodcraft was founded by Henry Dul as a one man attempt to create beautiful wood furniture and forged steel home decor in a two car garage. It wasn't long before we outgrew the limited space. Our shop is now located in Skaneateles Falls in the former Welch Allyn building.

Henry grew up in Nelsonville, NY a small town in the beautiful Hudson Valley. His childhood home was situated across the street from a historical blacksmith and wagon making shop. After expressing his interest in metalworking, the former blacksmith in the shop lent Henry a forge, anvil and vise as well as his own instruction and guidance. From this point on Henry became fixated on developing unique designs and shaping raw materials into their final form. Henry ended up working for a steel plant startup in Arkansas that was pioneering a new and vastly more efficient way of producing sheet steel. His work then led him back to New York when he accepted a position at a steel plant in Auburn.

It was around this point that Henry realized just how much he missed designing and building products by hand. "My urge to realize unique forms and truly become a part of finished product was irresistible" and thus Shamrock Forge and Woodcraft was born. Henry was fortunate to have two uncles that were both deeply immersed in the woodworking craft. They graciously provided tools and knowledge of the craft, allowing Henry to quickly develop skills and gain momentum.
